Senior User Interface Designer
We’re looking for an innovative, talented UI designer to join the A9.com team and help build the next generation of some cool new services. Located in downtown Palo Alto, A9.com builds innovative search technologies and services.
Must be
* A passionate advocate for customers and their needs
* Willing to work hard
* Self-motivated leader who can drive a design initiative from end to end
* Able to partner well with business and engineering leaders
* An expert communicator able to discuss the pros and cons of design choices
* Constantly learning new ways to innovate, up-to-date on the latest in the industry
Must have
* Strong interaction design skills
* Demonstrated ability to create breakthrough product designs
* Compelling visual design and aesthetic sense
* Ability to juggle many tasks at once and to work on 2 projects at the same time
Responsibilities
* Design, design, design
* Develop a compelling overall vision for each product
* Work with technical leaders and product managers to determine requirements
* Design interaction flows and individual features.
* Expand on the basic requirements to add innovative UI elements that make for a breakthrough user experience
* Create working prototypes of key UI elements
* Directly design the final look and / or coordinate with a visual designer to do so
* Learn from customer feedback to improve future versions
* Partner with software engineers to deliver a great finished product
Requirements
* Technical excellence in HTML and CSS
* A Bachelor’s degree in Human Interface, Design, or related field is required, graduate degree preferred.
* At least five years of industry experience.
* Online portfolio including examples of solving complex UI problems
* Technical proficiency in HTML and CSS are a must.
* The candidate should be informed by industry standards, intuitive with design decisions, and constantly learning new ways to be innovative in the user experience field.
